Madonna Siles Gallery - Art

MADONNA SILES…. is a plein-air painter who expresses the energy of the Door County landscape and surrounding waters using colorful oil pastels and acrylics. She also photographs the scenes and events that inspire her paintings. Madonna's artwork has been included in juried shows at the Rahr-West Art Museum in Manitowoc, Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay and Hardy Gallery in Ephraim. A member of the Water’s Edge Artists (painters for preservation) and Door County Art League (DCAL), she participates in numerous northeast Wisconsin plein-air painting events. Her paintings have also been selected for Water's Edge Artists' calendars benefiting the Lakeshore Natural Resources Partnership organization. She is a volunteer at the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay and at the Door County Art League's seasonal gallery at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek, where she coordinates the publicity. A retired marketing communications writer from Chicago, Madonna moved to Door County in 2000. Since then she has authored several books: Searching for Surprise, an illustrated Door County fairy tale, and Brain, Heal Thyself and Eureka Memories – books for caregivers. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
